So what exactly is conscious music?


Conscious Music:

  • has lyrical content which embraces our human experience using a creative, inclusive, wise, and loving perspective
  • is inclusive of all musical genres containing this lyrical content
  • speaks to the spirit living in all people, returning us to love, peace, and unity
  • brings an awareness of the power of music to uplift, inspire, and heal
  • creates positive connections between diverse peoples of all ages
  •  instills in our youth hope for their future
  • offers a musical alternative whereby we may meet the circumstances of our individual lives by engaging with them positively, powerfully, and mindfully

Conscious Music Fest FAQ


The 2015 San Diego Conscious Music Fest (SDCMF) is the 2nd presentation of talented conscious music songwriters and performers living in Southern California. Artists from San Diego and Los Angeles will gather to perform their original music.



The Music Fest’s main stage will be held at the Meeting House at the First Unitarian Universalist Church.



Saturday November 14, 2015 ~ 1:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.
Afternoon Fest    1:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Young Voices Contest winners & Conscious Community Choir Performances    5:00 – 6:00
Evening show    7:00 p.m. – 10:30 p.m.


The SDCMF is proudly presented by Universal Spirit Center, a Center for Spiritual Living, in celebration of 13 years serving the San Diego community. Based in Hillcrest, Universal Spirit Center is an inclusive spiritual community welcoming people of all faiths. Recognizing the inherent Divine nature in all, Universal Spirit Center celebrates all spiritual paths.


Annette Ridenour, SDCMF Co-Producer, is the Business Chair of the Fest, Treasurer of Universal Spirit Center, President and Founder of Aesthetics, Inc., and a leader in the art & design community.    
DevaVani, SDCMF Co-Producer, is the Music Chair of the event, Music Director of Universal Spirit Center, is a well-known performer, singer, and leader in the conscious music movement.
